I'm Amy, the proud pack leader behind Barx & Rec. With over two decades of paw-some experience in the world of animals and a heart that beats for the great outdoors, I've embarked on a new adventure to bring joy and enrichment to your furry companions.

My journey began as the maestro of a successful traveling circus act and then later evolved into a life completely based around my Pomeranian Foxie.
I wanted to have a life with her always my side and found myself in the drivers seat as the manager of a bustling doggy daycare and boarding facility, where I orchestrated playdates, managed canine soirées, and witnessed the incredible bonds formed between our four-legged friends.

Through 16 years of tail-wagging excitement at the daycare, I discovered the magic that happens when dogs are not just entertained but truly enriched.
Foxie spent almost that entire 16 years as my co-pilot and after she passed, I found myself with another trusty sidekick, Copper – a goofy 5-year-old foxhound mix with a zest for life that matches my own. Together, we've conquered camping trips, hiked untamed trails, and reveled in the beauty of nature.
These adventures with Copper have continued to ignite the spark that led me to the creation of Barx & Rec.
